Black Saddlebags Dragonfly giclee fine art print

The black saddlebags dragonfly (Tramea lacerata) is a large dragonfly found across North America. They have distinctive black spots on their wings, hence the name "saddlebags."

This scientific illustraiton was drawn from a pinned and dried specimen captured in northwest Washington. The specimen was drawn to be "idealized," with perfect wings, realistically arranged legs, and symmetry that is often lost when an insect has been dried. This allows for exact species identification, down to the window-pane-like panels of the wings!

This is a professional giclee reproduction print of the original ink drawing, and it is archival quality on cotton paper. Each print is signed by the artist in the bottom right corner. The print is not framed, but framing is recommended. All prints are shipped with a mat board backing and in a rigid carboard mailer.
