Mojave Desert Hares

Black-tailed Jackrabbits (Lepus californicus)

The black-tailed jackrabbit is common across the western United States, including shrublands and desert scrub. They are easily recognizable by their 5-7 inch ears, and they can run at speeds up to 40 miles per hour. They often eat the pads and fruit of Opuntia cacti. The cacti provide the hares with crucial hydration in the arid climate of the Mojave Desert, and the Joshua trees provide shade.

Printed on archival quality cotton rag paper using pigment-based inks, this fine art print captures the texture and detail of the original watercolor painting.

Details:

  • Paper: Archival cotton rag (subtle texture)

  • Signed: yes (front)

  • Frame: not included
