One of my favorite things about living on the Pacific Coast is going out to the rockiest beaches during low tide & exploring the tidepools. This painting was done on a sketchbook page in the fall of 2025, right after moving to Monterey, California. As I found new creatures and shells, I would take photos and make sketches of them to precise scale in my sketchbook page, and then finish painting them later.
Species include: black abalone, bat star, California mussel, purple shore crab, owl limpet, mossy chiton, and more!
Printed on archival quality cotton rag paper using pigment-based inks, this fine art print captures the texture and detail of the original watercolor painting.
Details:
Paper: Archival cotton rag (subtle texture)
Signed: yes (front)
Frame: not included
